A speeding pickup truck went out
of control, hit a low wall, and became airborne, landing on the roof of
Fish Bowl's Bar and Grill, igniting a fire. Firefighters rescued
the driver (Jefferson, W.Va.).

Sparking Blaze
On Saturday April 17, 2004 at 0521am,
the Jefferson Volunteer Fire Department responded to vehicle crash at the
Fish Bowl Bar and Grill with fire reported. First engine on scene reported
heavy fire and vehicle was on top of the building. Driver of the vehicle
had minor injuries from the crash but, jumped off the building and injured
his back.
Jefferson FD was assisted by St. Albans West Side VFD, Institute VFD and
St. Albans FD.
The vehicle hit a stone wall, jumped over a parked truck that was only hit
by the stone from the wall and came to rest on top of the building approx.
80 feet from the wall.
A driver in Jefferson, W.Va. who fell
asleep at the wheel of his pickup truck, woke up to a nightmare.
Authorities say after he dozed off,
his truck hit an embankment and went airborne over another parked pickup
truck before landing on the roof of a bar.
The accident triggered a fire that
destroyed Fish Bowl's Bar and Grill.
The driver was taken to a hospital
