The Nitto Dura
Grappler The Nitto Dura Grappler tire
is a tire not designed specifically for offroad trail use
but rather for your Tow Rig, SUV or light truck.
This member of Nitto's Grappler line is designed with a
street-oriented tread design, appropriate for towing duty
and good
on road performance under load. Developed with
reduced tread flex to aid with good handling and tire
longevity, the Dura uses 3 or 4 (model dependant) wide
circumferential grooves for water diffusion and ample
siping in the tread area.
The Dura offers a low rolling resistance that
translates into better fuel mileage and a very low level
of noise. Thanks to a very solid shoulder
predictable road handling as well as excellent tracking
behavior are qualities of the Dura Grappler. Ride
quality in smoothness and noise level can be described as
a ride that is better than an a Light Truck Tire (LT) and
closer to the ride from a commercial grade tire. Using what Nitto
terms as their Dura-Belt (TM), which is a 3-steel belted technology
engineered for high-torque pickup truck applications such
as towing. This technology is said to strengthen and stabilize
the tire's tread area resulting in a reduction of
uneven wear as well as improving tread life.
Appearance has 2
distinctive sidewall designs with a tread pattern that
will vary between the sizes with the LT metric sizes
sporting a 4-rib design and the P-metric sizes using a
5-rib design. Treadwear limited warranties available
in a 45,000-mile warranty for
Dura-Belt sizes and a
60,000-mile limited warranty for
P-metric/Metric sizes.
The Dura Grappler is available in the 'E' load range (80 psi, see
Load Index)
and geared for heavy-duty Light Trucks. Performance Rated
as: QRTH and the
UTQG Treadwear is 600 for the P-Metric and
Metric Sizes Only.
Traction Rating: A and
Temperature Rating: A. Sizes are available
