The original legend of the Grave Digger truck started in 1982 but then Dennis
Anderson built the first monster truck version of the Grave Digger in 1986 when
he installed 66 inch monster truck tires on a 1951 Ford panel truck. This
early monster truck version of Grave Digger sported a blue and silver paint job
along with the Currituck Grain Co logo, the company Dennis Anderson worked for
at the time. At that time in 1986, this very distinctive monster truck was
nicknamed “The Legend”. In March of 2010, the vintage 1986 replicate of
Grave Digger “The Legend” made it's comeback on the Monster Jam circuit.
Driven by Dennis Anderson's son, Adam Anderson, Grave Digger The Legend had made
its debut at the Monster Jam World Finals in Las Vegas.

As we watched this beast crawl up the RTI Ramp, observed the pivot point just behind the cab of the
truck as it worked it's extra flex into a great score for a 118 inch wheelbase
vehicle, we knew we would have to do a page on
this beast.
