Bad News Travels Fast is a monster truck currently racing in the USHRA
Monster Jam series. Bruce bought the Excalibur truck from Charlie Pauken in
1998, and turned it into the Bad News Travels Fast truck. The Bad News truck
debuted in 2000, and the original truck was ran by Bruce Harney from 2000-2003.
The team got a brand new truck with a new paint scheme in 2004. The new Bad News
truck ran from 2004-2008. Bad News featured three different paint schemes over
the years with Bruce Harney driving.
In the early months of the 2011 season,
Bruce and his wife put the truck up for sale due to retirement. Brandon Derrow
and his family bought the truck in October of 2011 and competed in his first
show later in the month of October, with help from Bruce. At the beginning of
the 2012 season, Brandon re-introduced Bad News with a new purple paint scheme.
Bad News continues to use the new purple scheme today in Monster Jam events and
continues to be a fan favorite.
Bad News Travels Fast was also featured in the
video games "Monster Jam: Path Of Destruction" in 2010 as one of the trucks you
can play in.

As we watched this beast crawl up the RTI Ramp, observed the pivot point just behind the cab of the
truck as it worked it's extra flex into a great score for a 118 inch wheelbase
vehicle, we knew we would have to do a page on
this beast.
