Positive Lock Cable Hooks have advantages over standard winch hooks in that they self-lock under load and are generally rated higher than standard winch hooks.

You can effectively double the line pull capacity of a winch, by applying what is called a 'double line'. By using a Snatch Block / Pulley Block, you will double the line pull of the winch, but will halve the winching speed, due to the gearing ratio, this is not usually important and is often safer if you are pulling an abnormal load.

For every pulley you use there is a frictional loss of approximately 10% per pulley

A tree saver strap is a short, wide recovery strap that can come in very handy when extracting a vehicle.  It can be used to create an anchoring point to a tree, rock, or any other fixed object. 

Tree savers are an absolute necessity for environmentally responsible four wheeling.  Wrapping a winch cable or chain around a tree can dig into the bark, and ultimately killing the tree.  A wide tree strap helps distribute the large forces of a vehicle recovery over a larger surface area, thereby reducing damage to the tree.
