New ideas happen all the time. When a good idea sticks, rarely
does it stand alone if possible. Soon follows other similar
designs that flowed from the original innovative design. When Warn
combined a winch and a compressor into one product with its
PowerPlant Dual Force
HD Winch, this new winch was all talk for those that didn't
have the extra space for installing an air compressor. Soon after
followed the Smittybilt XRC 10 HD Winch with similar design and specs but
with one big difference over the Warn model; a lower price.
Rated at 10,000 lbs on a single line pull, the Smittybilt's XRC10HD combines both a powerful
series wound winch and a 150 PSI air compressor.
Equipped with the State-of-the-Art 5.5hp/4.0kw 12V Series Wound Motor, one of the
more powerful motors in its class. The gear system is a 3-stage
planetary with a 148.2:1 gear ratio. Smittybilt's new HD line comes with
a built-in Air
Compressor rated to push up to 150 PSI. The package also comes
with a slim design, two and a half gallon air reservoir tank that can be
mounted to the vehicle. With the combination compressor and
tank, that can allow enough on-board air to air-up your tires after a
hard day of wheeling, run impact tools or power that big-rig air horn
you always wanted. The XRC 10 HD is a heavy duty winch with built in air
compressor, designed for the demands of offroad yet still affordable for
the budget conscious.
