Pros: American made, powerful, reliable
Cons: Pendant connector ok; could be built heavy duty

My old Ramsey quit because it had a hi water mark in the motor, which had been disassembled and reassembled 90* off... I wanted to replace it with an American made winch, which narrowed the field to Warn and Ramsey. Warn was priced higher without having significantly better features; then I found an Internet bargain that sealed the deal. My first use of it was to pull a Jeep out of a nasty, slick crossing from behind. We ran a line to a treein front of the stuck Jeep, thru a snatch block, and to his bumper toe point. The wire rope cleared the Jeep by 8 feet- he was down in a gully. The winch motor never even got warm. The next use was when I "bellied up" on a level stretch of mud trail and winched about 150'. No problems (well,I was ready for a break!). It's been used a number of times since and is always ready. The only downside is the pendant control pul in is not as sturdily made as it should be, and the prongs may need to be opened up with a knife blade to make contact.

Pros: Reliability
Cons: Remote control

The winch is great. I've already faced some very hard situations and it performed perfectly. We have many deep mud tracks in Brazil and I could always count with this product. The only remark that I do is the button system of the remote control that I do not like at all...sometimes it is quite hard to activate it.
