ARB Safari Snorkel Kit For Toyota FJ Cruiser
Specifically designed to suit the FJ Cruiser, a Safari snorkel will significantly reduce the likelihood of costly engine damage that can result from dust, debris and water ingestion. It does this by relocating the air intake point on the FJ Cruiser from the relatively low and vulnerable position under the hood to a higher and safer location where a constant source of cool, clean, dry air is available.
Anyone who has spent time in off road environments almost certainly would have experienced one of these situations, although a solution to the problem is rarely considered until costly engine damage has already occurred.
A Safari snorkel system relocates your engine's air intake point from the relatively low and vulnerable position under the hood to a much higher and safer location where a constant source of cool, clean, dry air is available.
Manufactured from premium quality polyethylene, Safari snorkels are incredibly resilient and UV stable. Install one before your next trip and breathe easier knowing that your engine is protected by a Safari snorkel.

Pros:
|
Wasn't sure.. until I used it.

Cons:
|
the hole

I installed this about a year and half ago while going on a shopping spre building up my 2007 FJ. I wasn't sure it was a necessary accessory after the fact, that is until last week when I dipped the front end in the current of a high stream while crossing it. I know for sure that the air intake would have sucked down enough to kill the engine but thanks to this intake, I have an engine and I made it out of that hole and across the flooded stream. Thanks ARB!

Pros:
|
fairly simple to install, saves engine from water
|
Cons:
|
4" hole in the fender

I bought one for my 07 FJ mainly because I like the look. It has kept water out of my engine, wasn't too difficult to install, and actually helped the fuel mileage some 1-2 mpg increase noted on the highway. It gets attention from lots of people.
