Great place to ride...
GREAT PLACE!!! They've got an MX track ("2.5" miles, one way) this is absolutely sweet!!! They've got a "2.5" mile 'inner loop' (trail, one way), that is nice / wide and absolutely sweet!!! They've got a "5" mile 'outer loop' (trail, one way), that is also nice / wide and also absolutely sweet!!! Might be a tad better then the inner!!!! Both the inner and the outer have ton's of single track off shoot's. They've got a full blown KTM shop with tons of inventory (bikes, gear, and parts) and based on a couple conversations w/ the mechanics, most likely some pretty good service. One of the shop guys (about 50 years old w/ a beard) was super knowledgeable and a great guy. They've got another young kid working in the shop who also seemed pretty sharp **** THE ONLY BLEMISH WAS A MAJOR BIG TIME AS*HOLE WHO EITHER OWNS OR MANAGES THE KTM STORE / SHOP AND MAYBE EVEN THE WHOLE TRACK!! My first ans last trip to Highland Park was last weekend. And i was told that the new mx track was being built for atvs....Turns out it is not i was kicked off for ridin my atv on it. When the guy pulled up and told me i needed to get off the track i told him that online it sdays that this is aqn atv track. he said they have one on the far side of the park. turns out thats the old mx track. that has rain rutts 2 feet deep. you cant even ride on it. and i have a racing exhaust on my atv yea its loud but a damn 2-stroke is 10 times louder.they chased me with a a sound meter thing telling me my exhaust was to loud. so unless you have a stock exhaust i do not recomend this place.

The owner, Paul, is a jerk
|

My son (9 years old) had fallen on perimeter trail and I was helping him up when around a corner came Paul leading a group of guys doing the demo ride. He was way out of control and just about hit us - I yelled "slow down" as he went by. He circled around, rode the wrong way on the trail for 200 yards to come back and get in my face. He said "this is not a democracy and if you yell at me again I'll kick you out". I told him his primary concern should be about the safety of the riders not showing off and setting a bad example to the riders doing the demo. He seriously was inches from hitting us and never once was concerned about our safety or if everyone was ok - he only was upset that I yelled at him.

Disagree with the other poster. I had a similar incident with Paul when I had my son fall right in the middle of the perimeter trail at the bottom of the big downhill (this past weekend in fact) but I can tell you that he genuinely is just concerned with the safety of kids and he sees some really dumb things out there. I'd give him another shot before writing off the place.
