Rausch Creek Trail Riders (formerly Tower City)
Year-Round Fun for Everyone!
Whether it is a trail ride through the woods, playing in the mud, scrambling up a hill or having a relaxing ride and enjoying nature's beauty, there's something for everyone in your family at RCTR.
From Interstate 81 take Exit 107 for Tremont & Tower City.
Turn Right onto Route 209 South, and continue for 1.1 miles.
Turn right at the first intersection after the sign for Good Spring.
You're turning onto SR4011 (a.k.a. Main St.)
Continue for 2.2 miles until you reach a 4-way stop in Good Spring.
Turn left at the stop sign onto SR 4011 (a.k.a W. Center St.)
Continue on SR4011 for 3.5 miles until you come to a right hand horseshoe turn.
Instead of turning right onto the horseshoe turn, turn left onto the dirt road.
Continue on the dirt road for .8 miles and turn left at the TCTRI sign.

Pros:
Camping
Cons:
Unmaintained Trails, Clearcutting forestry, tree stumps and dusty areas, can be dangerous
Overpriced for the area and what you get. A huge amount of the land has been clear cutted and they left behind the stumps which has already taken out a few riders. What trails are left, and no longer kid friendly.
They appear to have some events on a monthly basis, but the participation is limited. This isn't a club atmosphere.
If your looking to just ride, RAC would be a better alternative. But RCTR does have the camping feature which is nice.

Pros:

Great friendly Riders, Rock Riding if you love it (I do)
Cons:
Cost, unkept trails ie stumps, rocks, difficult camp roads
"relaxing ride and enjoying nature's beauty...." Trails need maintenance and logging is ruining many trails. Wear and tear to bikes and ATV's is high.

Pros:

Fun, LEGAL place to ride
Cons:
room for improvement
With Paragon's original location going down, I started going to Rausch Creek and I like it. I kow they're working on improving the riding area so I give them some slack, it's a lot of work. But as far as legal places to ride in the area, this is a great alternative to trespassing.

Pros:
Camping, Plenty of trails, lots of hill climbs
Cons:
Minimal Trail maintenance, clear cutting, expensive
Yes there is minimal trail maintenance but your not confined where you can and cant ride. You can make your own trail if you want.
If your a beginner rider this isn't the best place to learn but its still possible. If your a seasoned rider there are PLENTY of challenging trails and hill climbs. Its really nice if you own a campsite and have a private place to stay whenever you visit.
If you visit ask where to ride. If you go up the wrong mountain you may be biting off more than you can chew.

A place to ride
Cons:
Riding area shrinking rapidly while membership fees rise
Since Rausch Creek took over management, the club has seen a steady decline in quality and service.
The owner(s) care more about making money than providing a quality riding atmosphere for the off-road enthusiast. Some of land has been sold off, leased to timber companies who clear cut many of the good established trails, and/or leased to a hunting club. All of which results in a combination of less riding area and/or days in which riding is permitted.
There used to be thousands of miles of quality wooded and established trails, but now it looks like a bomb went off and the only thing left standing are tree stumps on the mountain side. So as the land shrinks, the membership fees continue to rise. Management doesn't seem to care about trail maintenance, nor rider safety.
A single day pass to ride costs $50. Totally outlandish for what's left to ride.
Don't waste your time and money at TCTRI. I'd suggest buying a membership to ride on Reading Anthracite's (RAC) land for $100 per year.

Pros:

legal riding
Cons:
cost is astronomical for what you get
Tower City Trail Riders rocked. Then it became Rausch Creek. What a scam, very little land left. We used to ride from the club to back of the power plant under the tunnels on 81 and just keep going. Now is just sucks bad.
