Description: Mountain Ridge ATV Trails Pennsylvania is located near Central City. The Mountain Ridge ATV Trails has 40 miles of trails open to ATV and o ffroad motorcycle riding. The trails are marked trails are marked as Green for Novice, Blue for Advanced and Black for Expert riding. Mountain Ridge ATV Trails are located in Reels Corner, PA, on Route 160 just South of the intersection of Route 160 and Route 30. Only 20 minutes from both the Somerset Exit 110 and the Bedford Exit 145 of the Pennsylvania Turnpike. >From Somerset, follow Route 281 North to Route 30 then take Route 30 East to Reels Corner and follow Route 160 South. From Bedford follow Route 30 West to Reels Corner and follow Route 160 south. Look for signs.


Celebrating our 2nd Year of Providing the best to the ATV Riding Community - 'The Mountain' will soon be the Largest ATV & Motocross park on the East Coast - We have over 2500 acres and access to another 500 acres! Trails provide a mix of riding that will fit any rider’s style. They have gentle rolling hills, extreme rock climbing, mud pits and hills that can challenge the best riders.


NEW TRAILS are Now Open
Trails are marked as:
Green for Novice - family oriented
Blue for Advanced - challenge yourself
Black for Expert - rocky



Trail #1 - Main North / South Trail The North/South trail is a two-way main trail for getting from the southern property to the most northern sections and trails. This trail is rated easy and the speed limit is 15 MPH


Trail #2 - Big John Trail
The Big John Trail is rated Most difficult because of the many rocks the rider must travel over. Sports qu ads can make it using care and skill. The trail starts down by the motocross track and stays mainly in the wooded areas. Several bridge crossings and some muddy areas make this trail challenging and yet enjoyable.


Trail #3 - Gentle Ben Trail
Easy, yet with some tight turns among the pines and great view make this trail a real pleasure to ride. It starts in the very northern section of the property and can be reached by taking the Main North/South Trail.


Trail #4 - Logger's Run Trail
This trail comes off Jay's Run Trail and travels north along following old logging roads. It's rated More difficult due to the terrain and some tight spaces. The trail brings you back to Chuck Wagon.


Trail #5 - Narrows Run Trail
A short trail that gets very narrow at the northern end. Rated Easy it dumps out unto the Big John, but a hard left and you can travel on the 6 wheel trail back to the Main N/S Trail, or continue on the Big John.


Trail #6 - Chuck Wagon Trail
The Chuck Wagon is rated easy and travels north off the Big John Trail near the southern end of the property. It weaves thru the woods and brings you back on the Main N/S Trail above the Motocross track.


Trail #7 - 6 Wheel Run Trail
6 Wheel run starts just below the Motocross track and takes a very easy trail following the Big John and Jay's Run and then makes its own trail heading west along the wood line back to the Main N/S Trail. Suited mostly for multi rider vehicles.


Trail #8 - Jay's Run Trail
Jay's Run Trail is rated easy and follows old logging trails and empties out onto the Big John Trail. Not to worry though because the Big John at this point is rather easy heading north.
At the junction of Narrows Run and 6 Wheel the ride can take 6 Wheel back to the Main N/S Trail.

Pros: the trails are long
Cons: 20-30 mph winds nonstop, like riding a jackhammer for 10 miles, no soft dirt, not challenging,endless boredom

we rode main trail, gunnar trail, and gentle ben.


ALL of these trails were littered with golfball,baseball,& softball sized rocks.i mean POLLLUTED with them. youse emore rocks than dirt. in fact when youre lost in the middle of a field (ALL the trails wind thru huge fields)you only know the trail by the ROCKS -not that anybody ELSE has USED the trails... basically you are crawling @ 2 mph &getting jarred and shaken NONSTOP for ten miles of trail.its all flat maybe one hill climb per trail, boring as heck,and extremely annoying becuase youre in 2nd gear all day idling...you cant even get any speed up because it feels like youre constantly riding on a washboard. after about an hr your organs and guts feel like theyve been thru an earthquake. also the best part is EVERY SINGLE TURN IS A BIG POND OF WATER- not one 90 degree turn on any of the 3 trails we rode was dry. they are all blind turns and BAM you are faced with 10-15 inches depth of water.
no biggie for grizzly type 4x4 quads. but the sport quads-like i ride- it would suck, youd be soaked from head to toe at every one and with the 20-30mph winds everywhere youd freeze in 5 min.this place is KNOWN for 20-30 mph winds daily- I MEAN DAILY- they have 35 windmills 100ft high to generate electric there, its so constantly windy.when youre riding, yousee the end sof other trails. NONEOF THEM AR EMARKED FOR NAMES> so allit says is trail end do not enter.


ok great but that doesnt tell you what trail ended so you can LEARN YOUR WAY AROUND EASIER -THEY DONT HAVE ANY MAPS FOR YOU.(the idiots excuse was they arent done cutting the trails- my thing is well at least give people a map of what trails YOU DO HAVE NOW)


also the trails are alllong. manyof them are ten miles each great for long ride times. but a huge problem if your quad breaks or you need anything- medical,water, restrooms, gas, whatever-you are literally miles from anything in the middle of a field. theres NO SHORTCUTS to get back to the office/parking area. so the factthat every trailleads back to the main trail is freaking useless becuase it will take you two hrs of following your current trail-while getting jarred and shaken at 2mph JUST TO GET BACK TO THE MAIN TRAIL.
if you have kids in the 8-12 yr old bracket don EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE.


youcome to an intersection and allthe green trails(easy) point to the right. you go to the right and only one trail is there. the other 6 trails theres no further directions as to how to find them.


the rockynes sof the trails were horrible. i am use dto DIRT thats what i rid ein - youspin your wheels in it, it cushions your ride and makes it possible to go fast and the ride fun slipping and sliding in it. especially for kids. this trial was like the bataan death marchin viet nam.
thsi whole event was a miserable mistake for me and my 8 yr old son.


i will NEVER EVER GO THERE AGAIN. 25 bucks per person. my son is EIGHT no price break no nothing.


iwould recommend slippery rock dunes forpeople with kids.
or else mines and meadows. muchmore challenging lots of hills and lot sofmore challnging trials- 50 in all and they have DIRT
somethign the idiot who owns this place doesnt realize = SOFT dirt and some challenges are essential to good trail riding.


these three trails were like the exact same identical thing. constantly riding over rocks, getting jarred and shaken, no challenges no nothing. boring and stupid.


id recommend mines and meadows and slippery rock dunes or tri county . maybe the dunes dont have much trail but what they do have is a thousand times bettter than mountain ridge.

Cons: No trail maps

If you're riding these trails at 2 mph and afraid to get wet, you're not much of a rider. Leave the 8 year old at home and try the other trails there. You'll find some very challenging hill climbs, including one very long and treturous one. Try Shamrock trail for varying terrain and challenges.There's also a motocross track there. My only gripe is that I didn't buy a pass cause I paid for it more than once.

1st anonymous is an idiot. my 8yr old loves this place and his ride is a raptor 90, and he does blue trails there.if you cant ride stay home,shamrock is an awsome trail, it is blue, actually nicer then some of the green trails, bought season family pass cause 25 a person is a little high, wouldnt mind paying it if they gave a break on kids price but they dont. also they really should intall shower houses if they are going to hold events like quadfest, all things considered its a nice place to ride

30 min from home, shamrock is awesome and my 8 yr old son does this blue trail on his raptor 90 and also did it on his raptor 80. biggest gripe is they need to maintain their trails better and price break for kids

Cons: staff treats you with no respect padded room material

Poor staff need to hire new people if they get new staff i will return but till then never go back rock run is way better

Pros: IMO...best in PA
Cons: Wish it was closer to me

That first person should not even be riding. Hey....maybe they should just stick to driving around in their car on paved roads. Best rding in PA followed by Mines & Meadows and then Rock Run. Trails are long, one way and marked very well. All different sorts of terrain which do include some rock gardens which I find no problemm with and I ride a sport quad. I even rode some black trails (boulders) on my sport quad and what a challenge that was.
