ARB Compact On-Board Air Kit
ARB 4x4 Accessories, Australian based four wheel parts manufacturer, has created an all new (as of 2005) high quality, low amp drawing, compact compressor kit to operate ARB Air Locking Differentials, that will save on space and your wallet.
While this new low volume compressor is extremely compact, it is a force of power in a small package. Designed specifically as an economical, quick installing, compact air source to solely source to solely activate ARB Air Locking Differentials, this new compressor is well suited to keeping your vehicle moving in the harshest of weather and terrain.
The new compact compressor, features fully sealed components for moisture and dust resistance and a relocatable air filter assembly for a cleaner, cooler air supply and versatile water proof air intake positioning.
A hard anodized cylinder bore and PTFE impregnated carbon fiber piston rings are used to reduce friction and maximize the life of the unit. The new, patent pending, anodized mounting bracket that has been engineered to dissipate heat and allow the compressor to be positioned 180 degrees adds to the new and improved compressor design.

When installing ARB air lockers, I was provided with the choice of their two compressors;
1 which only powers the lockers.
2 which powers the lockers and can be used to pump up tyres.
I chose the second option at around about 150 bucks more expensive than option 1.
True this compressor will pump up tyres (if you are willing to wait about an hour to go right around your rig) but it really only suits pumping up bike tyres, footballs and that sort of thing.
Dont get me wrong, this is a good, tough, reliable product but, if faced with the choice again, I would opt for the smaller unit designed only to run the lockers and spend the difference on the beginnings of a York conversion.

The newer version of the one pictured above has a small cylindrical top which can be rotated. Given that both the pump and receptical can be rotated it made for an awesome fit under my passenger seat. My 265/76/16 tyres pump up reasonably quickly for the size of the unit (about 2 min from 22psi to 44 psi)For such a small and versitile unit I would buy another tomorrow, if I had too
