The Ocala National Forest offers many enjoyable locations to ride Off Road Vehicles. While the Forest Service has not designated or marked specific ORV trails, there are many unnumbered roads and travel ways that zigzag throughout the forest where you may ride.
Some areas of the Ocala National Forest are open to off-road vehicles. This is one of the best motorcycle / ATV areas in Florida with many miles of trails within the areas designated for OHV use. The two most popular trailheads are located at Big Scrub (intersection of Forest Roads 588 & 573 in the Seminole Ranger District) and Lake Delancy (3 miles west of State Road 19 on Forest Road 75 in the Lake George Ranger District).
The U.S. Forest Service — a part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture — controls activities within the forest. The USFS limits riding to certain areas, and they do enforce rules within those areas.
Unlicensed Vehicles are not permitted on improved roads.
A spark arrestor and a quiet muffler are required on all motorcycles and ATVs.
Some areas are off-limits in order to protect sensitive areas and endangered species. Information on which areas are off-limits can be obtained from the two Ranger District Offices and the three Visitor Centers. The USFS will gladly give you a map showing these areas.
It is illegal to operate an unlicensed (not street legal) vehicle on any of the numbered forest roads. This is strictly enforced.
A day use / parking fee is charged.

Trails go out in many directions from each trailhead. Take a compass and a map with you. The area is very large and it is easy to get lost.
