Description: Yokohama Geolandar MT Tire
This breakthrough tire design goes far beyond ordinary mud/terrain tires by providing high performance on all types of terrain. The plus version of Yokohama 's M/T tire differs from the previous iteration due to engineering innovations in the tread, sidewalls and tire compound. The result is a tire that can plunge through mud, go all-out at high speeds on hard dirt, gravel roads, dunes, rocky terrain, across rivers and the most difficult of all, asphalt.

"We are so confident in our new Geolandar M/T+ that we are putting it to the ultimate test as the official tire of the grueling Protruck off-road race series," said Art Michalik, director, marketing communications for Yokohama Tire Corporation. "And while it can handle the demands of professional off-road racing, it also offers uncompromising on-road performance.”

Its off-road capabilities are enhanced by new larger shoulder buttresses with protectors that enhance performance, durability and visual impact. Additionally, new larger scoops from the shoulder blocks help the tread edges release mud and dirt. Every second shoulder lug is taper cut, with the protruding blocks that provide a stronger side "bite.

"An additional groove has been added within the blocks perpendicular to the directional pattern to improve traction, enhancing edge effect and improving both grip and directional stability, especially on dirt and gravel. Achieving the same objective, a wide double-step center groove features self-cleaning capabilities while enhancing water drainage on wet road surfaces.

The updated M/T+ gets a new compound, fine-tuned to enhance wear resistance and lengthen tire life. The modifications make for improved stability and comfort on pavement and greater resistance to chipping when off the beaten path. Additionally, two new protection bars have been added to the sidewall and the rim area to make the tire more resistant to cuts.

Extensive tests and computer simulations helped determine the 32-degree angle for the block patterns. At 32-degrees the pattern displays excellent mud expulsion, top-grade drainage characteristics and superb block rigidity during cornering.

The Yokohama Geolandar M/T+ is now available across the U.S. in most 15-, 16- and 17-inch diameters sizes; the full line will be available September 2004.

Yokohama Tire Corporation manufactures, markets and distributes a complete line of products for high performance, light truck, passenger car, commercial truck and bus, as well as off-the-road mining and construction applications. Yokohama supports the tire care and safety guidelines established by the Rubber Manufacturer's Association (RMA) and the National Highway Transportation and Safety Administration (NHTSA). For more information on these guidelines check "Taking Care of Your Tires" information at www.yokohamatire.com.

Pros: Great Looks, Grips anything, mud forward only
Cons: none

I put a set of these on my lifted Pathfinder. We do a lot of deep woods wheeling here in Ontario CA and my Yoko's flex well ove a lot of what I throw at them. You gotta air them down to about 10 psi though to get the good grip. In the mud they clean well going forward but tend to bulk up in reverse. Depends on the direction you mount them. Good tire overall. I love them. Alex CA

Pros: They grip everything. Mine are wearing nicely.
Cons: They trimed the lugs.

This tire will go anywhere. I've gone through some deep mud, rocks sand soft dirt, and these things just dig. I would advise anyone who want a great mud tire on a daily driver to go with Geolandars. They have good street performance as well.

Pros: looks like it works
Cons: doesnt come in a REAL truck Size 18" Rim

If this tire came in a REAL truck size i would love it. But for now, it only comes in pansy 15", 16", and only 1 17" offering. Whats up with that?? Where are the other 17" sizes and how about some 33 or 35" 18's??? You need 18" rim sizes.

Pros: Perfect in mud and snow, great teaction on roads, low noise
Cons: none

I have these tires in the 17' series,(265/75/17) And there on a 1992 gmc sierra K2500. I use them for mud running and snow plowing. I have yet to need to air them down. I live in Ontario Canada and these tires will get me anywhere. I agree that they do clog up in reverse, but driving forward is awsome. Mud time there better than any other tire I have own. I also take them off in the summer as they wear more on the hot pavement. I have another set of tires I use for summer.

Pros: quiet and handles well on tar for a mt.
Cons: nothing yet

I have these on my mitsubishi pajero. I live in namibia, africa. These tyres take a lot of punishment over sand and sharp rocks and high speed gravel driving, and sit better and quieter on tar than other mud terrains I've tried. First time i've tried them and I am sticking to them.

Pros: Nice look, good ride, wear well, can't beat it for mud traction, insane dirt and forest grip...INSANE!!
Cons: little pricey but on par with others of same size...

Have run the tire for about 3500 KM On some pretty harsh rock, dirt, high altitude snow. Rides very nice on road and on trail. Tough little tire. Very much improved from the older M/T. I had no problem backing up in mud?? And they are great at about 12 PSI.

Pros: They are the KING of M/T
Cons: none

This are the best tires I could fine for my Tacoma,
with good rating and excellent price! I looked for M/T like CRAZY cause you all know TIRES aren't CHEAP any more.

KEEP UP THE GOOD JOB YOKOHAMA !!
