Description: Staun Tire Deflators

Staun Tyre Deflators are the easy way to deflate your tire for increased traction. It simply screws onto your tire valve to automatically deflate all tires to a preset pressure.

This product is a clever piece of simple engineering. They come with four brass valves (one is pictured to the right) and are packaged in a leather case that is small enough to be stored in your glove compartment.

The valves are fully adjustable by hand and once set, they can be locked into place at your desired air pressure. The adjustment range of 6 to 30 psi is available, with no minimum start off pressure required.

The Australian made Staun Tyre Deflators were named the best product overall in the under $500 4WD accessory category by one of Australia's leading 4WD magazines. Every valve is fully tested for performance and preset at 18 psi before packing.

The concept for the Staun Tyre Deflator was born during Easter break 1998 when Staun's two directors found themselves on a cramped barge with 50 4WD's on board. They noted that all of the owners, themselves included, were squatting uncomfortably between the vehicles with keys/matchsticks and tire pressure gauges in hand, and torches in their mouths. Both men knew there had to be an easier way to deflate tires accurately and safely.

After two years in development and registry of a worldwide patent, the Staun Valve emerged. The device simply screws on to the tire valve stem and deflates to a preset pressure that is of course adjustable to suit your requirements.

Pros: Excellent Product!
Cons: expensive but worth every cent

Using these Staun Tire Deflators couldn't be easier. I just screw them on and walk away. The pre-adjusted spring loaded pressure regulator stops releasing air when it gets down to the desired pressure. Then I take them off. That's it. No more crouching down with an air gauge or holding the valve stem in with a stick or the pressure gauge while the rest of the gang is ready to go. It comes with 4 in a leather couch and they are heavy, machined brass with a steel spring and feel very well built. I've had my set for a few years and used them frequently. they're still set to the pressure I wanted originally. I double checked them and they're all still accurately stopping at 12 psi after 2 years. Great product. Worth the bucks.

Pros: Easy as pie
Cons: cost more than a stick

I spend the dough and got a set myself. Airing down to me was a pain prior to getting these tools for the job. So I didn't air down as far as I should have for the trails I was riding even though I had onboard air. Now I have these, have them set to 15 psi. I screw them on, prep a few things and I'm done. Been using them for about a year and a half and they have been right on the psi all that time. Great gadget and a great conversation piece as others are sticking a twig in their valve stems. Wannna barrow these? hehe...
