Allegheny National Forest Pennsylvania
East of Bradford, the Willow Creek ATV Trail is an 10.8-mile loop trail traversing scenic, forested hills on the Bradford District of the Allegheny National Forest. The trail is designed for enjoyment of ATV and motorbike riders representing all skill levels. The trail is open from the Friday before Memorial Day to the last Sunday in September. Inclement wet weather may cause the trails to close in short notice--when in doubt, please call ahead.
A permit is required for all off-highway motorcycles and all terrain vehicles that use the designated off-highway vehicle trail system on the Allegheny National Forest. ATV users also are required to carry proof of liability insurance and proof of PA registration before we can sell a trail permit.

Rocky Gap ATV Trail - located southwest of Warren along SR 3005, also known as Route 337, the Tidioute-Warren Road.
Timberline ATV Trail - located along Forest Road 232, one mile south of SR 948 and SR 66 intersection.
Marienville ATV Trail - located along State Route 66 about 15 miles southwest of Kane.

Willow Creek ATV Trail - located along Forest Road 137, approximately 2 miles south of State Road 346, 11 miles west of Bradford.

Rocky Gap ATV Trail - Open, February 11, 2008
The Rocky Gap ATV Trail is a 20.0 mile loop trail traversing the forested hills of the Allegheny National Forest. It was constructed for the enjoyment of ATV and motorbike riders of intermediate and expert skill level.
The trail seasons run from the Friday before Memorial Day to the last Sunday in September; and December 20 to April 1.
Inclement wet weather may cause the trails to close in short notice--when in doubt, please call ahead (814-723-5150).
Camping is permitted along the trail as long as your equipment does not block the trail. Camping is not permitted at Rocky Gap trailhead.
Finding the Trail
The trailhead parking lot is located along Pleasant Drive (State Road 3005/337), at the intersection of Forest Road (FR) 155 (6 miles south of Warren, PA). You can also access the trail anywhere it crosses a public road. This trail can be found on the Warren quadrangle map.
Riding the Trail
This trail is open to Class I ATV's, trailbikes, snowmobiles, horses and mountain bikes. All ATV trails are marked with yellow, diamond-shaped blazes.
The trail is divided into two sections by Pleasant Drive (State Road 3005/337). The trail is suitable for both trailbike and ATV use. However, due to steep side slopes, the ATV user may experience difficulty in some sections. Please exercise caution in these areas. The southern section is 10.8 miles long and is rated MORE DIFFICULT. The northern section is 11.1 miles long and is rated MOST DIFFICULT. Both trails are ONE-WAY travel only except where otherwise posted.
Riding time on the trail will vary depending on your skill level and riding style. An intermediate rider can expect to take up to four hours, while a more experienced rider may cover the trail in one to two hours.
Timberline ATV Trail - Open, Februrary 11, 2008
The Timberline ATV Trailhead has experienced problems with sanitation and vegetation destruction. In order to protect the natural resources and the health and safety of forest visitors, overnight camping has been restricted to designated sites only.
Please camp only in those areas posted for overnight camping. Please make proper use of the restroom facility, and please pack out your garbage. Your cooperation with these guidelines will help the US Forest Service ensure that this trailhead is an attractive place to visit on the Allegheny National Forest. Thank you for your cooperation.
The Timberline ATV Trail is a system of 37.8 miles of interconnecting trails traversing scenic, forested hills of the Allegheny National Forest. The trails are designed for the enjoyment of ATV riders at the beginner skill level. Other vehicles, such as motorbikes, mountain bikes, and snowmobiles can also enjoy this trail. The trail seasons run from the Friday before Memorial Day to the last Sunday in September and from December 20 to April 1.

Finding the Trail
The trailhead parking lot is located on Forest Road 232, one mile south of SR 948 and SR 66 intersection. Parking is also located along Township Road 458 (FR 136) near Beuhler Corner and Township Road 322 at Pigs Ear south of State Route 66. You may also access the trail anywhere it crosses a public road. This trail is located on the James City, Hallton, Portland Mills and Russell City qaudrangle map.
Riding the Trail
This tral is open to Class I and Class II ATVs, trailbikes, snowmobiles, horses and mountain bikes. All ATV trails are marked with yellow, diamond-shaped blazes. Consult the trailhead bulletin boards for more information and additional trails that may be open or closed.
"YOU ARE HERE" maps are located at these key junctions to aid riders in navigating the trail. The Timberline ATV Trail provides an enjoyable recreational experience. The trail utilizes many old roads and railroad grades. Riding surfaces are generally level and wide (averaging 8 feet in width). Two-way travel is permitted on the trail.
During the winter season, this trail provides snowmobile access from the south and southeast to the Allegheny Snowmobile Loop system. Because of concurrent use of ATVs and snowmobiles, this trail is not groomed.

The Marienville ATV/Bike Trail is a system of 37.8 miles of interconnecting trails traversing scenic, forested hills of the Marienville District of the Allegheny National Forest. The trails are designed for the enjoyment of ATV and motorbike riders of intermediate and expert skill levels. The trail seasons run from the Friday before Memorial Day to the last Sunday in September; and December 20 to April 1 ("ATV Trail Area" only).

Finding the Trail
Main trailhead parking is located along State Route 66, about fifteen miles southwest of Kane and 11 miles northeast of Marienville (maintained for winter use). Secondary trailheads are noted on the map. You can also access the trail anywhere it crosses a public road. This trail is loated on the Lynch and Russell City quadrangle maps.
Riding the Trail
The trail is open to Class I ATV's, trailbikes, horses and mountain bikes. All trails are marked with yellow, diamond-shaped blazes.
The trail has been divided into a Bike Trail Area and an ATV Trail Area, as shown on the map. This provides a variety of riding experiences for different types of machines and levels of difficulty. ATV's are permitted on the Bike Trail, and trailbikes are allowed on ATV Trails.
Key junctions on the trail are marked by numbered wooden signposts corresponding to the junction marker numbers shown on the map. "YOU ARE HERE" maps are also located at these key junctions to aid riders in navigating the trail.
Bike Trail Area
This 23.5 mile loop is rated MOST DIFFICULT and is best suited to trailbikes. The Bike Trail offers a very ROCKY trail surface that winds and twists through the forest. Trailbikers can finish the trail within a few hours. ATV'ers will find a very demanding and challenging ride that will take about 4-6 hours to complete. The trail is NOT recommended for inexperienced or novice riders. This trail is ONE-WAY travel except where witherwise posted. This trail is open only during the summer.
ATV Trail Area
This 14.3 mile loop system is rated MORE DIFFICULT and is best suited to ATV's. The ATV Trail uses old roads and railroad grades. The trail is ONE-WAY except where otherwise posted. This trail area is open during both summer and winter.
Willow Creek ATV Trail
Willow Creek ATV Trail is an 10.8-mile loop trail rated MORE DIFFICULT and is suited to ATV's and trailbikes. The trail is designed for enjoyment of ATV and motorbike riders representing intermediatel skill levels. The trail season runs from the Friday before Memorial Day to the last Sunday in September. Finding the Trail: The main trailhead parking for the trail is located along Forest Road (FR) 137, approximately two miles south of SR 346 and 11 miles west of Bradford. This trail can be found on the Stickney quadrangle.
Riding the Trail: This trail is open ot Class I ATV's, tralbikes, horses andmountain bikes. All trails are marked with yellow, diamond-shaped blazes. The trail is ONE-WAY travel except where otherwise posted.

Camping is permitted along the trail as long as your equipment does not block the trail. There is limited space for camping at the Willow Creek Trailhead.
In case of emergency, the nearest hospital is 13 miles east of the trailhead, in Bradford, PA. The nearest pay telephone is four miles northwest on SR 346.
Safety: If you note unsafe conditions on the trail, please report them to the Bradford Ranger Station. Things to report could include damage to the trail surface, trees across the trail, damaged or missing signs and blazes, dangerous stream crossings, damaged bridges, boggy areas, washouts, and other similar conditions. We appreciate your help.
Volunteers: If you, a friend, or your club are interested in volunteering to help maintain this trail, please inquire at the Bradford Ranger District office.
Customer Service: The Bradford area offers food, lodging, gas and medical facilities. Contact local Tourist Promotion Agencies to facilitate your travel.
