Kumho Road Venture MT 834 Featured in the CORR Racing series the MT's deep, full-traction tread can handle your toughest traction needs. Variable tread-void across the tread center and shoulder means good ride and top handling, with excellent off-road traction. Aggressive, open shoulder lugs with side-biting edges dig down and also grab sides of ruts. Features more pitches than most leading mud tires and more biting edges per revolution. The durable 834 is also ice-stud compatible. Special Features - Greater number of pitches than most leading mud terrain tires provides more biting edges per tire revolution.
- Alternating, "cupped-out", shoulder lugs with side bite edges, not only dig down, but also grab ruts for additional traction.
- Pinned for the addition of ice-studs, when Mother Nature is at her worst.
- Specially formulated tread compound resists cuts, chips, and abrasions common to off-road driving.
- Variable tread void; wide open shoulder lugs for traction, less void in center of footprint for good wear, ride and handling performance.
- Nylon sidewall reinforcement promotes durability in the most rugged commercial applications.
- Durable nylon belt edge strip gives high speed stability and resistance to centrifugal forces.

I purchased a set of 33x12.50R15LT last fall and put them on my Jeep. I'm happy with how they do on the trails I ride. Most of the places I wheel here in WV are wooded trails in the mountains. I see a lot of mud rocks but mostly it rocky trails and washouts. I've thrown these tires into some pretty good goop holes and they did surprisingly well! I always seemed to be able to keep moving with some moderate wheel spin to keep them throwing mud. I've put about 15k on them so far and so far they are fine on the road. The tires seemed top break in pretty quick. I do air down to 15 psi so that probably helped break them in. They have a little bit of road noise but nothing un-desirable. I actually like the bit of noise they make. The best part of all was the price. I paid 130 a piece installed. Compare that to a BFG of the same size. What the review on this site said about them haveing about the same tread pattern is true. I compared these to my buddy's BFGs and they look the same. But at about a hundred bucks a tire less! That's 400 bucks! My opinion, I'd recommend this tire especially if you want to save money.

I put a set of 33x12.50R16 on my 2x4 Ford Ranger. They handled very well through the trails and mud. I was surprised how many times these tires got me out of the mud considering I only had two wheel drive. It's too bad these tires have been discontinued but hopfully the new model will be just as good. If your looking for a set of reliable mud terrains, then these are it!

Pros:

good grip, good looks, good price, good wear.
|
Cons:
|
must be siped or studded for use on ice!
|
|
Put a set of these (30x9.50-15) on my jeep wrangler. I loved the way they looked. They did great on mud, gravel, dirt and rock. They were good on road and off road. After 25,000 miles they still looked new with only minimal wear. They were good on snow, but were marginal on ice. Having them siped or having studs installed would make a major difference. Unfortunately my state has outlawed studs for the common man. You can only use them if you have a mail route or are involved with law enforcement. I fully expected to get 50,000 plus miles from these tires, but during a severe ice storm I was T-boned by a guy going about sixty and my jeep was totaled.
