Wheeling in da Shmootz
Weekend of Damage and Recovery
We descended down into the valley along it's southeast
ridge. This trail emerges to a large open clearing
that we call the tree stand, named after the hunter's deer
stand built up in a tree. This plateau has a really
nice view of the valley looking northwest so it's always a
nice place to pause for a while.
Heading away from the Tree Stand, we have a few options.
We could continue south along the ridge and work our way back up top
the mountain or we can head down into the valley to the creek.
This particular day we crawled down a steep descent to the floor of
the valley along the creek. Along the way, we had to stop to
clear a fallen tree that blocked the trail.
