The following
pictures are from the previous year's winter trip (2004).
It's an interesting
story. This old 1965 Kaiser Jeep CJ-5 has been around a
while. The beginning years of it's life are unknown but Paul
got this Kaiser years ago to commute to college. It was old
and beat up then but it served him well. At some point an
engine rebuild was done by Paul and his dad. Then it was
driven back and forth
hundreds of miles to and from the cabin several time, finally to
make one more trip up to the cabin where it then sat. For 7
years. Outside. Then one day, a few guys though it
would be interesting to see if this old Jeep will fire up.
Cranking away a cylinder fired. Then two. Then three
of the four were firing! After a little tinkering the
"Hurricane" 134 I4
engine was firing on all 4 cylinders. It was alive
again. Paul then re-adopted this old Jeep, towed it home and
made a few worthwhile modifications to the Vintage Kaiser
Jeep.

Here, Paul in his 1965 Kaiser CJ-5 cracked
through the ice along the creek, and got locked in the ice
requiring a good yank out. |
