Description: Baystate Jeepers, Inc. is a family-oriented 4wd Jeep club formed to promote the sport of driving on primitive roads (trails) requiring high clearance four-wheel drive vehicles. Founded in 1998 and incorporated in 2000, we describe our club as a “stock to slightly modified Jeep club”, because of our restriction of 30” minimum to 35” maximum tire size. By strictly adhering to these limits and keeping our vehicle sizes compatible, we insure that our runs are not too difficult for some, and not boring for others. This concept has proven very popular with our members and has resulted in a club that enjoys a widely diverse membership and schedule of activities.
Baystate Jeepers, Inc. has recently joined with several other area clubs to form the Northeast Association of 4WD Clubs. This Association is working to maintain positive relations with local landowners and various governmental agencies to insure open access to the land. On a national level, we are a member of the United Four Wheel Drive Associations, the Blue Ribbon Coalition (“Preserving our natural resources for the public, instead of from the public”), and we subscribe to Tread Lightly principles, always leaving with more than we bring in.

Like other area clubs, we will not divulge the location of trails, as we would then be unable to insure their use by responsible four wheelers. We spend a lot of time maintaining a good relationship with landowners and have seen what damage just a few “renegade wheelers” can do to a trail.

Our current schedule includes monthly (March thru November) Jeep runs, which incorporates camping trips, trail cleanups, and our own “Jeepfest”. We also plan the “Great American Jeep Rally”.

We use a trail rating system from 1 (easiest) to 10 (most difficult). Most trips are rated 4-6.
